Scammer Tactics – Detailed Analysis

Professional-looking ads to build initial trust

  • Creates Facebook / Instagram ads and a page that looks legitimate (many likes, positive posts, menu photos).
  • Ads include a direct “Chat on WhatsApp” button so contact starts immediately and feels official.

Menu selection + customizable packages

  • Offers multiple meal packages (e.g., 20-day plan) and lets victims “choose dishes,” which creates the impression of a real food service.

Low-price / convenience baiting

  • Promotes low, attractive prices (example: 20 days for RM170) targeting cost-conscious customers, elderly families, or caretakers.

Delivery confirmation & area assurance

  • Asks for delivery location/time and always confirms service is within delivery area — this removes victim hesitation and final objections.

Extra-fee upsell after initial agreement

  • Asks questions that become new charges (e.g., “Do you have tiffin / container?” If no → extra fee). This conditions victims to accept small additional charges.

Upfront payment requirement

  • Requests full or partial payment before delivery via bank transfer (accounts listed above). Using bank transfer gives the scammer immediate cash with low traceability.

Ghosting / no-delivery at scheduled time

  • When delivery time arrives, nothing shows up. Attempts to contact the seller result in messages ignored or blocked. The page/number may later be changed or removed.
